Today has been a nostalgia filled day. The sunshine has brought visitors to Masham and they have brought requests! These are just a few of them:
A couple who have a elderly friends asked them if they could remember Kali and also if you can still get it? They popped in to ask..... and the answer is yes! Kali is sherbert crystals and we sell it as Rainbow Crystals.
One young lady asked for 'Wilko' mints - also known as School Chalk or Mint Liquorice. Happily we were able to supply.
Popping candy was on a gentleman's shopping list for his grandson - I remember this as space dust, and today we sell it in the form of Fizz Wizz. Another happy customer!
Quite a few customers have also come in for 'a quarter of' various old favourites - Midget Gems, Rhubarb and Custard, Yorkshire Mixture, Pear Drops and scrummy Lemon Sherberts.
What sweets do you feel nostalgic for? Are they still making them? There are some long forgotten names that appear on our Jigsaws that bring a smile to the faces of many bringing to mind happy memories of childhood trips to their local sweet shop. Why don't you have a think and see what you remember? Maybe let us know and see if we stock it?
